The AI receptionist independent insurance agencies hire so producers stop quoting bad risks.
Half of inbound calls are mortgage companies asking for COIs and rate-shoppers who'll never bind. Voipy handles the certificates without a human, qualifies new quotes by carrier appetite + state + line-of-business, and only routes producer-time to leads that match your binding criteria.

What it solves for insurance agencies
How it handles your call patterns
| Caller intent | Voipy handling |
|---|---|
| New quote request | Captures named insured, line of business (auto/home/commercial/life), state, prior carrier, prior losses, current premium. Books producer time only if state + line match your appointed-carriers' appetite. |
| Certificate of insurance request | Reads from your AMS to verify the policy is in force, generates the COI, sends to the third-party (mortgage co, landlord, hiring entity) — no producer touch needed. |
| First-notice-of-loss / claim | Recognizes claim-coded language; immediately reads the carrier's claims-line script (carrier name, claim phone, hours, what to have ready) and pages your assigned CSR via SMS. |
| Policy question — existing client | Looks up the policy, answers premium / coverage-limit / next-renewal-date questions; routes to the producer-of-record only when needed. |
| Mortgage co / lender verification | Confirms in-force status, faxes/emails declarations page; logs the request so you can bill the convenience fee if applicable. |
| Captive carrier / cold solicitation | Politely declines; never reaches the producer line. |
Works with your stack
Why it pays for itself
- Producers stop quoting risks you couldn't write anyway.
- COIs go out the same business day, every day, without producer touch.
- After-hours quote-shoppers reach a live agent at 9 PM, not voicemail.
FAQ for insurance agencies
Can it pull data from our AMS to answer policy questions?
Yes — read-only AMS integration is included on Practice and Enterprise plans for AgencyZoom, EZLynx, Applied Epic, AMS360, NowCerts, and HawkSoft. Voipy can quote in-force status, premium, next renewal date, and limits without producer involvement. Coverage changes still require a producer.
Can it bind policies?
No. Binding is a licensed-producer activity in every state and Voipy will never quote-and-bind. We collect the qualified-lead intake, schedule producer time on a slot that matches the prospect's urgency, and route everything outside producer hours to your appointed carriers' direct lines if applicable.
Does it know carrier appetite?
We pre-load your appointed-carriers' appetite filters (state, line of business, minimum premium, prior-loss disqualifiers, owner-occupied vs. rental, building age) at onboarding. Quote requests outside appetite get routed to a referral partner you designate or a politely-declined script — your producers never see them.
What about FNOL — first notice of loss?
Claim-coded language triggers a separate flow: Voipy reads the carrier's claims-line script (24/7 claims phone, what to have ready: policy number, location, photos), pages your assigned CSR via SMS, and never asks the caller to leave a voicemail. The carrier's own claims department remains the system of record.
Compliance posture — TCPA, do-not-call, state insurance department?
Voipy never makes outbound solicitation calls. Every interaction is inbound-only or a tenant-initiated callback. We do not record state DOI complaints; if a caller mentions DOI / regulator, Voipy reads your compliance-officer escalation script and pages the principal. Recordings are encrypted at rest, retained per your tenant's policy.
