The AI receptionist solo therapists hire so the session stays the session.

When the phone rings during a session you can't pick it up, and a new-client lead doesn't survive voicemail-tag. Voipy answers 24/7, screens insurance + fit on intake, books straight into your calendar, and routes crisis-coded calls to your on-call protocol.

What it solves for therapy and mental-health practices

Every interrupted session is broken trust — but the new-client lead won't wait for callback.
Insurance verification eats half of every intake call before you even know if it's a fit.
Crisis vs. routine triage decisions can't be missed; voicemail isn't safe.
Solo practitioners are their own front desk, billing, and clinician — something gives.

How it handles your call patterns

Caller intentVoipy handling
New-client inquiryCaptures presenting concern (high-level), insurance carrier, preferred modality (telehealth / in-person), schedule windows. Books an intake consultation only if your taking-new-clients flag is on.
Insurance verificationReads from your accepted-payer list; quotes typical session fee + sliding-scale availability; never quotes a specific benefits amount.
Crisis-coded languageRecognizes suicidal ideation / acute crisis cues; immediately reads your safety-protocol script (988 + nearest crisis line + your on-call number) and pages your on-call clinician via SMS.
Existing client reschedulingLooks up the client (consent-on-file), offers next available slot, sends confirmation SMS.
Cold solicitation / billing-vendor pitchDeclined silently; never reaches the practice number.

Why it pays for itself

FAQ for therapy and mental-health practices

Is there a HIPAA BAA?

Yes. Practice and Enterprise plans include a Business Associate Agreement. Request one via support@voipy.app and we sign your standard form or ours, whichever you prefer.

How does crisis-handling work?

We pre-load a safety-protocol script you write (988 / Crisis Text Line / your on-call number / nearest psychiatric ER for your zip). When a caller's words match crisis triggers — suicidal ideation, self-harm, acute psychiatric crisis — Voipy reads that script verbatim, immediately pages your on-call clinician via SMS, and stays on the line until the caller is connected.

Will it disclose anything that breaches confidentiality?

Voipy never confirms whether a caller is a current client to a third party — even spouse, parent, or police — without an explicit consent-on-file flag in your portal. The default is the same posture a HIPAA-trained human receptionist would take: take a message, do not confirm or deny client status.

Can it handle telehealth-specific intake?

Yes — telehealth-vs-in-person preference is part of the intake script, and bookings can route to different calendars depending on the modality. Telehealth-only practices skip the in-person pathway entirely.

What about insurance — Headway / Alma / Grow Therapy panels?

We integrate with the major group-practice / panel platforms so the calendar Voipy books into is the same one your panel reads. Self-pay clients get the cash-rate path; panel clients get routed to the platform's own confirmation flow.
