About Voipy.

Voipy is the AI receptionist 16 small-practice verticals can already pick up the phone with — built by a tiny team that ships daily, runs the model stack itself, and answers every support email from the founder's inbox.

Why we're building this

Small practices — dental offices, vet clinics, optometry shops, law firms, insurance agencies, pharmacies — are getting squeezed on two sides at once. Front-desk hiring is harder and more expensive every year. Their callers are increasingly hit by AI-tooled phone scams that the front desk wasn't trained to recognize. Both ends meet at the phone, and the phone is where small practices lose hours, leads, and (occasionally) life savings.

The first wave of voice AI made this technically possible. The second wave — vertical-tuned products, real PMS integrations, included scam-screening — makes it actually buyable for a 1- to 10-person practice that doesn't have an engineering team. That's the wave Voipy is on.

The 92-pattern Voipy Shield library is included on every receptionist plan, not an upsell. We think small practices shouldn't have to choose between answering the phone and protecting whoever's on the other end of the line.

Who we are

Voipy is built and operated by SDN Bros Inc., a small, founder-led shop that ships AI infrastructure end-to-end — telephony gateway through model stack through customer portals. We're not flipping a horizontal voice platform into "vertical pages"; we run the GPU, the LLM (vLLM Qwen 7B with Anthropic + Gemini failover), the STT (Whisper large-v3-turbo), the TTS (Orpheus 3B), the gateway (Telnyx), the persistence layer (PostgreSQL + per-tenant isolation), and the customer portal ourselves.

Owning the whole stack means we can ship a fix to a healthcare-specific call pattern in hours rather than waiting on a vendor's roadmap, and it means HIPAA-covered call audio doesn't pass through a chain of third parties. /security documents the posture in detail.

Founder access

Anton Shannon — founder

I'm a software engineer who's been shipping production systems since the late-2000s. I run the engineering and product side of Voipy directly. If you're evaluating Voipy for a 1- to 10-person practice or a small senior-living facility and you want to talk to the person actually building the thing, you can reach me at anton@voipy.app. Small enough that I read the inbox; big enough that the answers are real.

I'm also responsible for the public /changelog and the /blog — both written and shipped from the same person, no marketing-team round-trip.

How we got here

Q1 2025
SDN Bros begins building voice-AI infrastructure for senior-living scam screening (the original Voipy Shield use case). Production pipeline lands on a self-hosted GPU stack to keep latency under 400ms and avoid third-party PHI routing.
Q3 2025
First two pilot dental + veterinary practices on the Receptionist tier. Pattern library at ~30 scenarios; first vertical-tuned configurations (dental, vet, law) ship.
Q4 2025
Pattern library crosses 60. AI-deepfake voice attacks (cloned grandchildren, virtual kidnapping, phantom hacker) begin landing in production telemetry — Shield's library starts adding 1-2 patterns per week to keep up.
Q1 2026
Pattern library at 91 scenarios. Verticals expand to 11 (insurance, pharmacy, therapy, optometry layered on the existing 7). Webhook revenue platform with 8 production integrations (HubSpot / GHL / Salesforce CRM, audit-log, transcription, AI disposition, missed-call rescue, reminders, review SMS, threat-intel) ships and lands on /integrations.
Q2 2026
Public launch: 16 vertical-tuned configurations, 92-pattern Shield library, 11 competitor comparisons, /security posture documented, founder-direct support inbox. Where you're reading this from.

What we ship

What we're not

We're not a developer infrastructure platform — if you want a per-minute API to build a custom voice agent on, look at Vapi / Bland.ai / Retell (we've written comparisons with each). We're not a horizontal CRM with a voice feature bolted on, and we're not a sales-led enterprise-only product — every plan has a 14-day trial, every tier has a published price, and our smallest customer pays the same per-line as the largest.
